Albarracín is not yet an abandoned ghost town – at least not entirely. This small city in rural Spain sites on a hillside in the Universales Mountains and dates back to medieval times, complete with a defensive moat, enclosed city squares, winding alleyways and towering town walls of stone with castle-like turrets still standing along them at ragged intervals. This pictures show us a lot of things. Photographer Jose Luis Mieza Ramos captures these charming and compelling architectural details in vivid color through this incredible photo series, which documents the town in ghostly enhanced pictures during times when its streets are the spookiest: devoid entirely of human activity.
