1. Smile

Women fall for smile, not some exaggerated chuckle. Small and chirping smile won’t appeal to any woman for sure. On the other hand, the smiling that hide a bass voice down there will certainly be noticed, but not necessarily unpleasant if it’s not too loud and showy.

2. Eyes

Dark or blue, green or brown. There is no use discussing tastes. And when even eye-brows and lashes are at their place… But when they feel you’re looking at them with special attention, your odds are better.

3. Muscles

Most of women love stable guy with muscles. But if they fall for bodybuilders it is more than obvious that it is about women who look for the feeling of security and think of themselves as weak and vulnerable.

4. Uniforms

Doctors, pilots, firemen… Some women are crazy when they see a man in uniform. According to some psychologists, women that have fantasies about these men are less mature and still looking for strong father figure in their men.

5. Voice

A man without strong and defined voice can’t order anything to a woman. Ladies fall for a nice talk, with moderate tempo, with neither too loud nor too silent voice. Anyway, a man with beeping voice will really have to do his best if he wants to conquer a lady.

6. Hygiene

Women like clean men. Dandruff, dirty nails, rough hands, dirty hair and rotten teeth are definitely not on the road to a woman’s heart. Regular showering and some deodorant are enough which means that you don’t have to put a whole perfumery on yourself to be noticed by a lady. Less is sometimes more.

5. Mel Gibson

His story begins in New York. “But how, he’s Australian?” – you’ll say. In fact, Mel Gibson moved to Australia with his family when he was little. His father won the trial against the city of New York and money he ‘earned’ used for moving into the land on kengaroos. Since his childhood, Mel was interested in acting, though he never thought of it as a career, but nevertheless during high school he signed in local Drama Academy. One night a friend asked him to give him a ride to an audition for futuristic action drama. It turned out that Mel had spent the evening before taking part in some pub fight and his face was all mesed up and in scratches. The director liked his face, because he needed lots of disfigured extras, so he offered Mel a job immediately. When Mel came to the shooting several days later, the scratches were all gone, and a charismatic male face of the future Hollywood star showed up. The director offered him the only role of a character whose look should be decent then, and that was the role that determined the rest of Gibson’s career. About the role, I’m shure you all know it – does Mad Max ring a bell?

4. Marilyn Monroe

One of the most desirable world blondes ever. But, neither her name was Marilyn Monroe, nor she was natural blonde, nor her first career had something to do with Hollywood glamour. Norma Jin Mortenson worked in ammunition factory during the 40′s where she was in charge with inspection of parachutes. Completely by chance, while shooting for an article about the factory she worked in, a photographer working in Yank magazine pointed her attributes. He told her – “You have breast that could change the world!” Then Norma dyed her hair, shortened her skirt and deepened her decolletage and there came the Playboy cover. The rest is history…

3. Pamela Anderson

If Marilyn Monroe was the blonde icon of the first half of 20th century, then Pamela is all that just in the other half. BayWatch was TV Series we gladly watched because of lots of action, complex scenario and multi-layer dramatism. Not! We watched it only because of sexy beauties running around in tight swimsuits. There was one among them who draw special attention – a blonde named S.J. (i.e. sexy Pamela). This was not Pamela’s only role. She acted in several motion pictures more, among which the most noticed one was with her ex husband Tommy Lee. Still, to avoid the conclusion you might get here, that she can thank for her career only to her big breasts, we’ll mention her humanitarian work with PETA. But how did it all start? If you need an example of someone born under a lucky star – Pamela is the one. In the year of 1967, on a 100th anniversary of Canadian statehood, she was born. She was the first baby born one minute after midnight and that’s why the media always payed attention to this blonde. When she grew up, she became the fitness instructor in Vancouver and the face of one energy drink. The ad for this drink found its place on Canadian football championship when the eye of the public spotted her huge decolletage. By the end of the championship, Pamela became ‘bigger attraction than football’, and so the star is born.

2. John Wayne

In his youth he was professional football player. That gave him his tuition and in the time he probably thought that the football will mark his life. Sadly, Wayne was injured and so left without tuition, job and career. As he was from California, he searched for a new job in developing industry – the film. No, it was not about acting career. He found a job as hard worker in Fox’s studio. There was a custom then, to compensate the missing actors with anyone you find on the street. One of those ‘from the street’ was the ex football player – John Wayne, who could frequently be seen as acting extra. In the end, the famous producer John Ford pulled a couple of strings and from failed football player created the famous Duke, a tireless western hero.

1. Johnny Depp

Johnny is one of the most paid actors today. But 25 years ago, could he even imagine what kind of career is smiling to him? As Gibson, Johnny was also asked by a friend for ride to the audition, but this time for a horror movie, that marked a horror era. Johnny agreed to do so, gave him a ride and decided to wait for him. The director noticed young and beautiful rebel, gave him a couple of lines to read, which Johnny was pretty good at and thus became a hero of his first horror movie, no less than “A Nightmare on Elm Street”! Remember Freddy Kruger?!

So, what did we learn? Never refuse a friend who asks you for a ride!

1. Wash your teeth after the meal

Brushing teeth after meals with a toothpaste that tastes like mint reduces appetite and sends the message to the body that you’ve finished eating. This contributes to hygiene habits and dental health, and when you can not brush your teeth, chew a chewing gum flavored with peppermint and without sugar.

2. Oil

According to the Shangri-La diet, weight loss is possible if two times daily between meals you take one to two tablespoons of extra light (not virgin) olive oil. This diet helps in closing the appetite.

3. Spices

Researches show that people eat less when trying out new and spiced food. Turmeric and Curry raise body temperature and thus speed up metabolism. Add more spices in various foods and spices such as cinnamon, turmeric and cumin are rich in antioxidants.

4. One meal a day

Many people who eat five to six times a day, in fact, do not eat small, healthy meals, but often reach for a salty snack. When you eat all day, you can not keep track of calories. Occasional post contributes to the health of the body and improves immune system, increases metabolism, reduces the risk of cancer and helps in weight loss, so try eating one meal a day.

5. Tight clothes

Wear tight and uncomfortable pants before dinner that will remind you of your goal not to gain weight, and besides, the clothes too tight is physically preventing overeating.

1. Poker – Texas Hold’em

Is there really anything I can say about this game that you already don’t know? Five cards on the table, two in your hands – combine!

2. BlackJack

Well, if there are those unfamiliar with the rules, here’s a short version – you are being dealt two cards, best fit is that their sum equals 21 – in that case you’ll have Jack/Queen/King and Ace, thats BlackJack. If you get lower cards you can say ‘hit‘ and dealer will give you another one until you say stop. So, you must choose wisely when to hit and when to stop, in order to stay under the 21.

3. Rummy and Gang-Rummy

Another great game, only thing that may bother you is that you’ll have to hold 15 cards all the time. The regular rummy is played with two decks of cards, so there are enough cards for everyone if there are more than two players. In the beginning you get 15 (if you play first) or 14 cards that you lie in a row, or collect a number in all signs. For example, you collect 7,8,9 of hearts, or 4s of diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs. This is pretty much it, in every turn you throw one and pick one card, and when you ‘collections‘ reach the sum of 51 you can put them on the table. He who stays without all cards first, wins. ‘Feels’ better than it sounds. And, yeah, Gang-Rummy is the same, only with one deck that makes the game way harder.

4. Bridge

All the ladies, both young and old played this game in the past, while men were having their business conversations. It is played today also, and there are several types of the game. You need at least four people (partners or separated) to play bridge. The dealer gives everyone 13 cards and the person sitting on the dealer’s left starts the game. There is a certain hierarchy in cards and turns. The first round should be started with Ace of spades, or any other sign and then continuing the row of cards of the same sign. Next round should also start with an Ace, but of a different sign and so on. There are certain concepts of valuation, passing, etc. that mostly depend on the type of bridge you’re playing, so, sorry, you’ll have to look it up yourselves about all specific details.

5. Preferans

This game is for three people at least with 32 cards. There are several ‘plays’ within the preferans game, 4 trump games (trumps are spades, clubs, diamonds and hearts) and the fifth and sixth are battle and sans that are notrumps. Here you follow classic terms of trump game, one starts the round and you have to follow with the same sign, or in case that you don’t have one try to get rid of a card you don’t want or to win the round using trump. The winner is the one who takes as much cards as licitated in the beginning of the round.

1. Heating oil until it begins to burn

The vast majority of recipes starts with heating the oil in the pan. In most cases, this takes a few minutes, so many of us tend to turn on the stove and do something else in the meantime, while the oil is heating. You certainly know what comes next – the smoke of burnt oil spreads throughout the kitchen, and you throw the onion or other ingredients in the frying pan, in panic of course. Except that oil changes flavor at high temperatures, it will destroy all beneficial antioxidants in food that we love so much.

2. Stirring food too much

Although it is sometimes really difficult to resist the urge to stir the food and so avoid that it sticks to the bottom of the pan and burns, excessive stirring can sometimes ruin the food worse than the lack of it. With constant “harassment” of food in the pot or pan, it becomes mushy and begins to split up, and when it comes to meat, it completely loses its juiciness.

3. Overcrowding the pan

If you’re too busy, and at the same time you have to cook, it is sometimes easier to just cram all the ingredients in a pot or pan and let the heat do the rest. However, such tactics actually slows down the cooking and food tends to be mushy in the end.

4. Let the meat ‘rest’ for a bit

We know that you are hungry, and that you can’t wait to bite that juicy steak you just finished roasting, but hold on for a minute. Roasted meat should be ‘resting’ for two or three minutes, so that all juices come to their place, making the steak even tastier. If you start chopping it too soon, all the juices will just flow out of meat, and you will feel that you are chewing a piece of cardboard.

5. Using metal utensils in the pan with Teflon cover

No matter how skilled you may be, the use of metal spoons and tongs in a pan coated with Teflon layer, sooner or later, will scratch it, which may cause the release of PFCs (perflourocarbon) in food that causes severe liver damage. Use wooden spoons, tongs, or those made of special rubber resistant to high temperature.

7. Envy

Very frequent disease at both men and women of all ages. A virus so wicked that I’m still confused that WHO (World Health Organization) hasn’t treated it better, or proclaimed pandemic. This virus attacks the brain directly and it is capable to destroy every piece of common sense in human. There is a difference between the host (an envious person) and the object of envy (a person that is treated with envy, that sometimes equals hatred, by the host). Object can be either one person, but also any person that is better from the host in any way, too. The dangerous thing about this disease is that it is not so easy to recognize – sometimes the host pretends to be a friend of the object and it is often already too late when the host is uncovered.

Completely true! Especially when it comes to men and their wish for the intercourse with as much women as possible. By the way, today’s popular f-word actually means Fornication Under the Consent of the King, know the word?

There is an old Latin proverb that says that a man eats in order to live and doesn’t live in order to eat. We can add ‘drink’ to this, and there’s our second mortal sin. Depending on culture, intemperance in eating and drinking may be considered as a vice, but also as a status symbol. In places where the food is scarce, eating well may be the matter of pride, to ‘prove’ oneself to those who are less fortunate. In cultures where food is available, it can be considered as a sign of self-control to resist overeating. The irony of life – some people don’t have a simple foodstuff as bread to eat, while others choose not to eat it because of gaining weight. Gluttony is a disorder, meaning that something devours us from the inside.

1. Pride

As the Devil from Devil’s Advocate (Al Pacino) said – Vanity, definitely my favorite sin. Well, here’s an illustration of Pride in student’s life – it is like when you run into the exam room so self-centered and confident, with the attitude of Lord Byron, sit across the professor and look at him/her in the eyes like Clint Eastwood looked some Texas bum, take your questions and have a quick look on them and in the Charles Bronson’s style throw them back because – that’s just the reason you came to the exam at all.

1. Fatty Food

Heavy and greasy food in the evening will not help you fall asleep, and if you accidentally succeed, you’d probably wake up several times at night because you’ll feel stomach-ache because it will try to digest all the grease you ate. So, avoid junk food like pizza, hamburgers, nuts, ice creams and food like that.

2. Sweets

Maybe just a bar of chocolate would not mind, and it will be enough to provide you sweet dreams, but anything more than that will demand plenty of energy from your body to digest all that you ate, and we all know that body is on ‘auto-pilot’ during the night with tendency to do the least as it can.

3. Red Meat

As well as the greasy food, red meat will also fall hard to your stomach. Pork is the most difficult, of course, but a big portion of turkey or chicken meat may have the same effect. Instead of that, choose the light variant – a smaller portion of turkey meat and a glass of yogurt.

4. Spiced Food

Spices can be very beneficial for our organism, but in the evening try to avoid spices, especially spicy food. Peppered food is hard to digest and spices can affect our senses and wake us up, just when we lie in bed and need to fall asleep.

1. UEFA Champions League

I think there is no person who hasn’t ever heard about Champions League… Football of course! Let me just give some of the basic info for those who maybe don’t know it – this competition started about almost sixty years ago, actually in 1955 and it was arranged by Union of European Football Associations or shortly UEFA, for the best clubs of European countries. The first, original name of this competition was ‘European Champion Clubs’ Cup’ but it changed to today’s name in 1992. It is pointless to mention that this competition develops the same as any other, you have lots of teams in the beginning and of course the winner can be only one, so there are several stages of this tournament, when finally it comes to finals that is the most watched sport event in the world; every year there is about 178 million people watching this final match. Current champion is Barcelona, Spain.

2. NBA League

Basketball is as famous as footbal, and as well as in football, there are many competitions including basketball, but there can be only one which is the best and well-known – NBA League. This competition originated and is still played in the USA, but one of the teams taking part in it is from Canada. In this tournament, there are 30 clubs participating and last year’s or actual champions are Dallas Mavericks, and the team who won this tournament more times than any other club is called Boston Celtics – won the NBA 17 times!

3. Grand Slam Tennis Tournaments

There are 4 grand Slam tournaments – Australian open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros an US open and every one is played on different surface – like grass, clay… I’ll just give a short summary about one – Roland Garros. This tournament is held in early spring, and it is the only one on clay. Being the Grand Slam tournament, this one brings 2000 ranking points to the winner, both male and female, and they will have to defend their title the next year.This is the biggest and most watched event in France.

4. Formula 1

Hmm, racing! Formula One or F1, however you like it is definitely the biggest racing competition on te world. Of course it is not the only one but the most famous names of racing came from Formula 1. The whole world knows about Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen… Their racing is called Grand Prix, and the places known for the best tracks are in Monte Carlo (Monaco), Istanbul (Turkey), Yeongam (South Korea), Sepang (Malaysia), Montreal (Canada), Interlagos (Brazil) and a few more in Europe. These F1 cars are the fastest ones in the world and it is considered they can go faster than the speed of light!

5. Tour de France

A major event in bicycling, definitely! This competition lasts for more than a hundred years, the first one was in 1903, and it is not held just in France (as the name suggests) but in the surrounding countries as well. It is always held in July and lasts for 21 days. Of course, they’re not riding for all those days, I think they have two days or more of rest while they’re being transferred from one city to another. The first one is the one who wasted least time to ride through all of the stages.

First Tim Burton’s movie I watched was Edward Scissorhands, and as I was so young I didn’t recognize Johnny Depp was in the main role! I’m sorry that I can’t name only one as the best Burton’s movie, I like them all and I sure tried but failed to single-out just one. Edward Scissorhands may be one from the top of my list, but however, if there are those who didn’t watch this movie, long story short – adopted idea of Frankenstein but treated much more subtle. As in many other movies and cartoons, this one also shows the connection between physical appearance and social acceptance and finally the ability to love. Everlasting subjects those may seem, but it’s our guilt that it is so, I guess we never learn. Anyway, don’t wanna bother you more, just watch the movie I assure you – you’ll be thrilled!

One of his pieces of art about afterlife, also very often discussed motive and a subject of many disagreements (is there any and if there is, how is it like?) – the Beetlejuice movie. The movie is about a couple who got killed in a car crash and after they realize they’re actually dead, there comes a series of ways to get in contact with people in this world, inhabiting their house, and how they are trying to scare them away, when after a while they call Beetlejuice for help. Let’s make things clear, the movie is from 1988 so the effects and animations are rather comic than scary but they’re interesting. This movie shows an interesting perspective on afterlife and seemingly undead Beetlejuice as well as the perspective of time. In the beginning none of the living people, except Lydia (Winona Ryder), the daughter of the people moved in, couldn’t see the dead couple, and the whole movie is about seeing them and their afterlife in the very house or in some other place – crossing over.

Burton’s movie I watched rather recently that left me impressed and even amazed was Sleepy Hollow. Good luck for me it didn’t came out when I was little, ‘cos I would certainly be very scared seeing a headless horseman. In fact, it is nothing that scary, it’s just I’m not a fan of horror – full of blood and traumatizing movies. The main role, of course Johnny Depp, obviously Tim’s favorite actor along with Winona Ryder maybe and Helena Bonham Carter, but here paired with Nina Ricci. The story is settled in 18th century and tells about the legend of a headless horseman who kills, at the first glance, random people in the Sleepy Hollow and Johnny Depp – as kind of forensic doctor, who comes to investigate unexplained deaths. In the end everything gets it sense in completely unexpected way. Be sure not to miss, if you still haven’t watched this brilliant motion picture. Gothic-lovers will adore it especially.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – great and very obvious point! Reminds me of my life sometimes, and I’m sure everybody can find a situation in his/her own life when there seemed to be no way something you really wanted to happen, but as a miracle it did, though the chances for it were 1 in a 1 000 000. Johnny Depp plays Willy Wonka, a chocolate factory owner who decided to give the factory away, as the present to the one of the five children who passes all his tests. Beside all rich and spoiled children, of course, poor Charlie is the one who passes them all but gives it all up because of his family that meant everything to him. As Willy himself had some problems with the family, he understood that Charlie was right and decides to change the deal so Charlie and all his house, literally, move into the chocolate factory and live happily with Willy Wonka.

If you can’t get enough of Johnny Depp, this is another movie for you – Ed Wood. Again, long story short, the plot is surrounded about a filmmaker Ed Wood and people around him, some of them are ex-stars, some of them wanna-be stars… Other central character is Ed’s old friend Bela Lughosi (starring Martin Landau) and also you can see Vampira, the one and only playing here. And don’t be misled, though the movie is black-and-white it’s from 1994. The central theme of this movie, in my opinion, is Ed Wood’s obsession with film making and his ways of making it happen. Of course there are lots of funny following circumstances, that make this movie really funny, but also put Ed’s devotion in the first place.

Well, there is a remake of an animated movie Alice in Wonderland, as well as the well-known Batman, but that is something completely different from these five. Also don’t forget the creepy and bit morbid Sweeney Todd, Demon Barber of the Fleet Street, where Sweeney (Johnny Depp) takes revenge on half of town for imprisoning his daughter, killing his wife and expelling himself from the city by killing lots of people and his new friend – Helena Bonham Carter, makes excellent pies with that meat. Yuck!!! I think those cannibalism moments are too much for me. And as the culmination, this movie is made like 80% musical!!! Many will ask, OK, what about Corps Bride, The nightmare before Christmas…? Yeah, they’re good, but if I tell you everything here, how can I make you watch all those you still haven’t?

What can I say more, enjoy the Burton’s movies!

4. Senufo

Senufo inhabit the border region between the savanna and moist tropical forests of Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. Senufo make masks of wood and bronze. By the way of wearing, the masks can be divided into the mask-helmets worn on the head and masks that are worn on the face. Masks can be zoomorphic and anthropomorphic. 5. Mossi

In the southeastern areas inhabited by Mossi masking tradition is not known. Mossi make two kinds of wooden masks: male and female.
